Thomasina Bushby

Former MHHC Board Member

Thomasina Bushby was a founding Board Member of Morris Heights Health Center and former Executive Director of the Morris Heights Neighborhood Improvement Association; a community grassroots action group borne out of the medical abandonment of the area.

Ms. Bushby was a champion and an activist for the community’s ease of access to quality and affordable healthcare. She remained active in representing the interests of Morris Heights Health Center, the community’s diverse constituents at all levels and by extension The Bronx, on Community Board 5, to garner legislative advocacy and support for matters impacting the health needs and social concerns of individuals and families in our region, to ensure the creation of equality in access to care for all.

A community resident, College Professor namely at Bronx-based Monroe College and Fordham University and stalwart community activist, Ms. Bushby brought her unique leadership style; organization and community cultural history; consummate passion; demonstrated knowledge and experience that was mission-focused, whilst advancing the health and social outcomes for individuals and families.
